It is difficult to put into words the impact that Mr. Al has had on our family. He has truly been a godsend to us and has played an incredible role in helping our teenage son AS navigate challenges across so many areas of life.

Mr. Al has supported AS in developing independent living skills, managing behaviors, improving socialization, and participating in community activities that once felt impossible. Through social gatherings, Friendship Circle events, and other community experiences, he has gently expanded AS’s world while helping him build confidence and meaningful connections.

Perhaps the greatest gift Mr. Al has given AS is the foundation for a more independent future. He has patiently taught him essential daily living skills that many families dream of seeing their children master. AS has learned to exercise in the gym, bathe independently, brush his teeth, get dressed, make his bed, load and unload the dishwasher, do laundry, and participate in cooking and household chores. These may seem like simple tasks to some, but for our family, they represent meaningful steps toward greater independence, dignity, and the ability to lead a more fulfilling life in the future.

He has also provided invaluable support to us as parents. He understands not only the needs of the child but also the challenges families face every day. He has gone above and beyond by helping AS tolerate and enjoy outings to places like Dollar Tree, Five Below, and pet stores—environments that were once overwhelming and anxiety-provoking. Through patience, consistency, and creativity, he helped AS work through pet store anxiety and many other difficult situations.

One of Mr. Al’s greatest strengths is his ability to be both deeply caring and appropriately firm. He sets clear boundaries while maintaining warmth, compassion, and respect—exactly what AS needs to feel safe, supported, and successful.

His dedication extends far beyond what is expected. He even traveled to Chennai during a family trip to provide support and ensure AS could participate more fully in new experiences. That level of commitment speaks volumes about the kind of person and professional he is.

We are forever grateful for the positive impact Mr. Al has had on AS’s life and on our entire family. Any family fortunate enough to visit Gentle Waves  will be gaining someone who is compassionate, dependable, skilled, and genuinely invested in helping children and families thrive.
